Press Release - December 22, 2012 PRE-EVENT STORY FOR THE BEACON ON JEWISH FAMILY SERVICE OF THE DESERT’S HOUSE & GARDEN WALK Preparations are under way for Jewish Family Service of the Desert’s much-anticipated 15th Annual HOUSE & GARDEN WALK, scheduled to take place on Sunday, March 10, 2013, from 12 noon to 4:00 p.m. This annual event has a reputation for showcasing some of the desert’s most prestigious architecture, design concepts, and museum caliber art collections. Each year, approximately 1,000 people visit the four featured residences during this one day event. Event Co-chairs are Michael Phipps and Mike Russell. Proceeds from this year’s HOUSE & GARDEN WALK benefit the men, women, and children served by Jewish Family Service of the Desert, a 30 year old non-sectarian non-profit organization with offices in Palm Springs and Palm Desert. JFS provides a diverse array of critical counseling and social service needs to those in need in our community – REGARDLESS of Religion, Age, Income, Ethnicity, and Lifestyle. Four outstanding residences will be featured during this year’s HOUSE & GARDEN WALK, including two homes on Clancy Lane in Rancho Mirage. One of these residences is a Tuscan Style Villa, featuring great views of the mountains, exquisite custom stonework, a handsomely-appointed guest house, and a stunning pool area. The second Clancy Lane estate contains an extensive art collection, encompassing paintings by French Masters, an Asian Art Collection, a Budda Collection, and Pottery and Glass Collections. This home also features a meditation room which was dismantled and brought over from Asia and then reassembled. Other highlights of this home include a breathtaking rock waterfall, putting green, and outside art sculptures. The third home, in Mirada Estates, is an ASID Award recipient featuring a Desert Contemporary décor with over 6,500 square feet. Stone, water, and metal are materials that are harmonious throughout the entire residence. Special art pieces contained in this home include a John Kennedy bronze, Finnish art glass, a tree trunk table from Cameroon, and a helmet collection from the Royal Guards. The fourth residence is a Palm Desert African style Mansion, complete with a Bird Sanctuary and Gardens featuring Flamingos and other exotic birds. Media Sponsors of this year’s HOUSE & GARDEN WALK include The Coachella Valley BEACON, PALM SPRINGS LIFE MAGAZINE, KMIR and KPSE TV, and MONEY TALK RADIO. Tickets are available at $ 75.00 per person. Sponsorships and Commemorative Program Book advertising is also available for companies and/or individuals who wish to support this fundraising event.
