MUSES & PATRONESS CIRCLE NOW IN ITS 25TH YEAR

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE . . .Dec. 6, 2012 . . . Palm Desert, Ca. – Board Member of McCallum Theatre’s Muses & Patroness Circle, Sally St. John, recently hosted this organization’s Annual Membership Tea at her elegant residence in Indian Wells.  Close to 200 elegantly-attired members and their guests attended this not-to-be-missed season opener. 

Celebrating its 25th year, The Muses & Patroness Circle of McCallum Theatre is a fundraising organization for the not-for-profit Theatre.   The mission of this philanthropic-minded group of women, dedicated to the performing arts, is to support the Theatre’s Education Department, THE McCALLUM THEATRE INSTITUTE, and its five Core Programs.   Since it was established, this hard-working support group has raised and contributed close to $ 5 million from memberships and major fundraising events over the years.

During the Tea, a check was presented to President & CEO of McCallum Theatre, Mitch Gershenfeld, in the amount of $303,500.00 exceeding last season’s contribution from this focused, “get it done” group.

“This is a truly amazing gift from The Muses, stated Gershenfeld.  “In so many ways, our McCallum Theatre Muses & Patronesses epitomize the artistic endeavors that inspire us each day.  As the Muses of antiquity conveyed their knowledge of music, dance, theater, and poetry, our Muses have taken on the responsibility of ensuring that the McCallum Theatre Institute is able to convey a knowledge and appreciation of the arts to the young people of our community.  For this, we are truly grateful,” Gershenfeld continued.
